“Nathan’s DFW crew was efficient and executed our retaining wall replacement with ease. Replacing a rotten railroad ties over 25yrs old with a 100ft long, almost 4ft tall, steep corner concrete barrier, right by a creek.”

The soil is the reason most DFW retaining walls fail. It is the first thing we design around.
North Texas sits on some of the most expansive clay soil in the country. DFW clay expands dramatically when wet and contracts when dry, creating lateral pressure that makes an inadequately built retaining wall crack, lean, bow and fail within a few years of installation.
Walls that were not designed for those soil dynamics will not last, however good they look the week they go in.
Every wall we build is engineered with DFW’s specific conditions in mind — material selection, drainage design, foundation depth and construction method are all calibrated to the North Texas soil profile. Nathan’s background building residential homes from the ground up brings a structural understanding of how soil, drainage and foundations interact that most retaining wall contractors do not have.
Retaining walls and pool removal are the only two things we do. These are the wall projects we take.

Removal and replacement of failing walls — cracking, bowing, leaning or actively collapsing. An assessment of the root cause is included in every replacement quote, because a wall that failed once will fail again if the cause is not fixed.
Aging railroad tie and timber walls are one of the most common failure points in DFW yards. We remove the failing structure and rebuild in stone, concrete block or poured concrete to modern standards.
Tiered systems for properties with significant grade changes. Each tier is designed as part of one structural system, not as a series of independent walls stacked up a slope.
Walls engineered to arrest soil erosion and protect property from runoff damage — particularly for DFW properties beside creeks, drainage corridors or sharp grade transitions.
Walls installed to redirect lateral soil pressure away from a residential foundation. Structural wall engineering and drainage design in one build.
Material is a structural decision before it is an aesthetic one. Nathan recommends from the site conditions.
A native Texas limestone quarried near Milsap, TX, in warm tan tones that suit most DFW yards. One of the most popular choices for residential walls in North Texas.
Another Texas limestone, with a distinctive reddish-tan character and a slightly warmer tone than Milsap. Used frequently in Tarrant County and the surrounding area.
We source and build with any natural stone available in the DFW market. If you have a specific stone in mind, Nathan will assess its feasibility and structural suitability on site.
Engineered retaining wall block systems — Versa-Lok, Allan Block and comparable products — give consistent structural performance across a wide range of finishes.
Maximum structural strength for demanding applications: significant grade changes, high-load conditions, or anywhere a uniform appearance is required.
Most homeowners are not, and that is fine. Nathan will walk the site, read the drainage and the grade, and tell you which materials will actually hold — before you commit to anything.
Nathan comes to your property, assesses the site and the drainage, and gives you a written quote. Same-day or next-day availability across most of the metroplex.
Materials and design chosen from the actual site conditions and your goals. We obtain and manage every required permit — you never coordinate with the city.
Nathan runs the crew from day one to completion, and the site is kept clean throughout rather than at the end.
All debris removed and the site restored, then we walk it with you and hand over the 5-year written warranty on the wall structure.

Cost in the Dallas–Fort Worth area varies with length, height, materials, site access and whether permits are required. Most residential retaining wall projects here run from a few thousand dollars to $20,000+. Nathan provides a free on-site quote so you have an accurate number for your specific project rather than a range.
Most residential projects are completed in one to three days depending on size and complexity. Larger multi-tier systems, or projects needing significant demolition first, take longer. Nathan gives you a realistic timeline at the quote.
Requirements vary by city and by wall height. Generally a wall over four feet requires a permit in most DFW municipalities. We obtain and manage every required permit, and it is included in your project scope.
There is no single best material — it depends on your site conditions, the structural load the wall has to carry, and how you want it to look. Milsap and Granbury stone are the most popular choices in North Texas for their durability and native character. Nathan recommends the right one for your site during the quote.
Yes, and it is one of our most common projects. We remove the failing structure, address the drainage or soil problem that contributed to the failure, and rebuild in stone, concrete block or poured concrete.
Yes. We obtain and manage all required permits on every applicable project. You do not need to coordinate with the city separately.
Nathan offers free on-site quotes with same-day or next-day availability across most of the DFW metroplex. He comes to your property, assesses the actual site and soil conditions, and gives you a clear written quote — no cost, no obligation.
Yes, unconditionally. The price Nathan gives you at the quote is the price on your final invoice. We do not issue change orders after a project starts, and there are no cost overruns on a project we quoted.
Every retaining wall we build is backed by a 5-year written warranty. If a wall we built develops a structural issue within five years of completion, Nathan will address it. It is a standing commitment, not a fine-print clause.

No. DFW Retaining Walls and Pool Demo specializes in retaining walls and pool removal only. We do not offer general landscaping, lawn care, irrigation, fencing, patios, pergolas, or any construction outside those two services. If you need a retaining wall built, replaced, or a railroad tie wall removed, that is exactly what we do.
General Manager · On site, every job
Nathan runs every DFW job personally. He is a Fort Worth native with more than 20 years of hands-on residential construction experience, and he walks the site for the quote, is there when the crew breaks ground, and signs off the final grade himself.
That is also why the quoted price holds. The person who priced the work is the person standing in your yard, so nothing gets discovered later that should have been seen on day one.
Free on-site quote, same day or next day. The price Nathan quotes is guaranteed, and every wall carries a 5-year written warranty.
