Reclaiming a Bedford backyard from an aging pool
This Bedford homeowner was done pouring time and money into an in-ground pool that had stopped getting used — the water had gone green, debris was collecting, and it had become a liability more than an amenity.
We drained and prepped the pool, demolished the structure, then backfilled and compacted the cavity in proper lifts before grading the whole yard level. The result is a clean, stable, open backyard the family can actually use — with no risk of the ground sinking down the road.

Our process, start to finish
Every DFW project runs the same way: the owner who quotes the job is the same person who runs it.
Free on-site assessment
Nathan came out to Bedford within a day to look at access, the pool structure, and the plan for the yard.
Planning & permits handled
We pulled and managed every required permit — you never deal with the city.
Drain & prep
The pool was safely drained and prepped, and the site protected for demolition.
Demolition
The pool structure was broken out and the debris hauled away.
Backfill & compaction
The cavity was filled in proper lifts and compacted — the step that keeps the ground from settling later.
Final grade & clean-up
Graded level so water drains away, and the site left clean and ready to use.
The difference is who shows up
The owner is on every job
Nathan quotes and runs the demo himself — no salesperson-then-unknown-crew handoff.
Done right, so it stays right

Removed right, so the yard stays level
Taking out an in-ground pool is more than knocking a hole in the shell. Done wrong, the ground sinks and settles for years and can become a problem when you sell. Done right, you get a clean, stable, usable yard.
There are two approaches, and we’ll walk you through which fits your property and budget:
- Partial removal — the top of the pool is demolished, the shell is drilled for drainage, and the cavity is filled and compacted. Faster and more affordable.
- Full removal — the entire pool structure is broken out and hauled away before backfill. Best when you want to build on the spot later.
Either way, the difference between a good job and a bad one is engineered backfill and compaction — filling in the right lifts of soil, compacted properly, then graded so water drains away. That’s what keeps the yard from sinking down the road, and it’s North Texas clay soil that makes doing it correctly matter.

★★★★★Nathan and his team did a phenomenal job at a fair price. While other companies were hard to even get a hold of, Nathan was incredibly responsive and just an overall great guy. He demolished our pool and it turned out fantastic — you won’t be disappointed!
