The Project

Turning a fenced-off Arlington pool into open yard

This Arlington backyard had an in-ground pool boxed in by fencing and overgrowth that had long since stopped being usable — it was taking up the whole yard and giving nothing back.

We cleared the fencing and overgrowth, removed the pool, then backfilled and compacted the cavity before grading the yard level. What was a fenced-off eyesore is now a clean, open slate the homeowner can build on, plant, or simply enjoy.

This is one of many projects behind our pool removal work — browse more completed projects across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.

What Proper Pool Removal Involves

Removed right, so the yard stays level

Taking out an in-ground pool is more than knocking a hole in the shell. Done wrong, the ground sinks and settles for years and can become a problem when you sell. Done right, you get a clean, stable, usable yard.

There are two approaches, and we’ll walk you through which fits your property and budget:

  • Partial removal — the top of the pool is demolished, the shell is drilled for drainage, and the cavity is filled and compacted. Faster and more affordable.
  • Full removal — the entire pool structure is broken out and hauled away before backfill. Best when you want to build on the spot later.

Either way, the difference between a good job and a bad one is engineered backfill and compaction — filling in the right lifts of soil, compacted properly, then graded so water drains away. That’s what keeps the yard from sinking down the road, and it’s North Texas clay soil that makes doing it correctly matter.

What Our Customers Say

★★★★★I am very pleased! I had interviewed 4 other companies and didn’t see the same professionalism. Nathan Rodriguez and his crew were wonderful. We ran into many delays due to rain and Nathan kept me informed the whole way — it was done better than I even expected. I couldn’t be happier!

Common Questions

Pool removal in Arlington & DFW — FAQ

How long does pool removal take?
Most residential pool removals take only a few days once permits are in hand. We’ll give you a firm timeline at your free estimate.
Do you handle the permits?
Yes. We pull and manage every required permit for your pool removal — you never have to deal with the city.
What’s the difference between partial and full pool removal?
Partial removal demolishes the top of the pool, drills the shell for drainage, then backfills and compacts — it’s faster and more affordable. Full removal breaks out and hauls off the entire structure. We’ll recommend the right option for your plans.
Will the ground settle or sink later?
Not when it’s done right. We backfill in proper lifts and compact each one, then grade the surface so water drains away — that’s what prevents settling down the road.
Do you charge for estimates?
No. Estimates are free, and we can usually get to you the same or next day — the owner, Nathan, comes out personally.
