Turning a fenced-off Arlington pool into open yard
This Arlington backyard had an in-ground pool boxed in by fencing and overgrowth that had long since stopped being usable — it was taking up the whole yard and giving nothing back.
We cleared the fencing and overgrowth, removed the pool, then backfilled and compacted the cavity before grading the yard level. What was a fenced-off eyesore is now a clean, open slate the homeowner can build on, plant, or simply enjoy.
This is one of many projects behind our pool removal work — browse more completed projects across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.

Removed right, so the yard stays level
Taking out an in-ground pool is more than knocking a hole in the shell. Done wrong, the ground sinks and settles for years and can become a problem when you sell. Done right, you get a clean, stable, usable yard.
There are two approaches, and we’ll walk you through which fits your property and budget:
- Partial removal — the top of the pool is demolished, the shell is drilled for drainage, and the cavity is filled and compacted. Faster and more affordable.
- Full removal — the entire pool structure is broken out and hauled away before backfill. Best when you want to build on the spot later.
Either way, the difference between a good job and a bad one is engineered backfill and compaction — filling in the right lifts of soil, compacted properly, then graded so water drains away. That’s what keeps the yard from sinking down the road, and it’s North Texas clay soil that makes doing it correctly matter.

★★★★★I am very pleased! I had interviewed 4 other companies and didn’t see the same professionalism. Nathan Rodriguez and his crew were wonderful. We ran into many delays due to rain and Nathan kept me informed the whole way — it was done better than I even expected. I couldn’t be happier!
